Early .410 converted
non-ejector Rook and Rabbit Rifle,
possibly originally a .380 caliber. Barrel length, following conversion,
now 25¾”
part octagonal and part round steel barrel - turned to remove barrel
weight for use as a shotgun. Original rear sight block removed and a
wedge blanking plate inserted. Makers name and address engraved on
barrel
“W. R. Leeson George St, Ashford, Kent”.

Proof House markings following conversion
during period 1925 to 1954.
Rounded action with carved fence with rebounding back-action lock, highly engraved border
and scroll engraving. Lock plate engraved with makers name “W. R.
Leeson”. Action incorporates the John Thomas patent single-bite snap action patent no.
3091 of 1871.
Wedge and Escutcheon
type forend fitting.
14¼” figured pistol-grip stock with steel pistol-grip-cap and butt
plate.
