A pair of fine 12-bore back action sidelock
ejector guns in an oak case. 29" Whitworth fluid steel barrels,
the No:1 gun with its
original London nitro proof markings. The no:2 gun has been re-barrelled
and carries later London Nitro proof House markings.
Interestingly the No:2 gun barrels were made from
Chopper lump blanks rather than the less expensive Dove tail
jointing technique of joining the lumps to the barrels.
The No:1 gun retains its 2½" cartridge chambering while the
No:2 gun has been proofed for 70mm or 2¾" cartridges. Both barrel
sets carry the makers name and address as W R Leeson Ashford,
Kent and 29 Maddox St., London W - Sir Joseph Whitworth's Fluid
Steel.
The actions are styled with the Leeson conical
shaped fences The makers name W R Leeson
engraved on lock plates. The striker pins are disk set and utilize
additional retaining
screws. Fully engraved edge and scroll work. The top levers have
additional set screws engaging in the top spindle screw.
Both stocks measure 14½" with
approximately ¼" wood extensions - both stocks are traditional well figured straight hand English.

fore-end release.
