matched pair of best boxlock 12-bore shotguns with 28" sleeved steel
barrels, chambered for 2½" cartridges, both choked approx. ¼ and ½.
Carry original London proof marks and Birmingham re-proof. The concaved game
rib carrying the makers name and address of W. R. Leeson Ashford
Kent & 31 George St., Hanover Square London, W.
Leeson style conical fences with Webley screw grip third bite and Dolls head
style extension. Actions fitted with intercepting sears, full bold foliate-scroll engraving, brushed
bright and re-blued finish. Action engraved with makers name W.
R. Leeson. Top lever fitted with secondary locking screw into main
spindle bolts. Standing breeches fitted with disk set strikers.
Nicely figured 14¾" straight hand English stocks with recoil pad. Fore-ends
fitted with Anson push rod release.
Weight 6lb. 4½oz. (No. 1) and 6lb. 7oz. (No. 2).
Manufactured c.1905/1908
In
their brass-mounted oak and leather case complete with original
trade label. The case carrying the embossed name of G. Champion.
