20-bore Boxlock Non ejector gun by W. R. Leeson, Serial no. 214

 

 

28" steel Damascus barrels with game rib engraved W. R. Leeson, George Street, Ashford. 

Very early Anson and Deeley non-ejector Boxlock utilising the Westley Richards Dolls head extension and top sliding bolt mechanism which makes no use of the conventional Purdey double under bolting system. The lump consists of a single hook. Action is nicely engraved with rose and scroll. Action flats stamped with Anson and Deeley patent no; 2974 pat. 1.76 172943.

Damascus barrels stamped with London Proof House black power marks. Stamped "Not for Ball" - originally proofed between 1875 & 1887.

Nicely figured straight hand English grip stock measuring 14".

Harvey Grip Catch style lever operation forend release.
