Best 28-bore boxlock  with 28" steel barrels. Chambered for 2¾" cartridges. Top rib engraved W. R. Leeson  3 Warwick Street, Regent Street, London. W1.  Carries original London proof marks of 1925 to 1954. Also later re-proofed, probably following lengthening of the chambers from 2½". The combination of proof marks, address and serial number indicate a likely date of manufacture of c.1927/8.

The frame with best rose, border and scroll engraving with chisel effect around the fences. The frame of the action carrying the makers name " W R Leeson". Disk set strikers with additional retaining set screws in standing breech face.
