28” steel nitro proofed barrels with 2½“ chambers, carrying London Proof House marks. Concaved barrel rib engraved W. R. Leeson 3 Warwick Street, Regent Street, London, W. 

Action and fore-end engraved with best bold rose & scroll work, action bar engraved W. R. Leeson,

Action fitted with removable disc strikers with locking screws. Fitted with Purdey hidden third grip bolting system under patent 397 of 1878. Retains perhaps 10% to 15% of its original case harding colour.

14” very well figured English straight hand stock with gold escutcheon bearing the initials D.G.B.

Anson pushrod fore-end release mechanism.

The combination of post 1925 proof marks, serial number and closure of  Leeson's gunmaking business in early 1930 would indicate this gun's date of manufacture to be c.1928/9
