A 12-bore "Purdey 1863 Second Patent" thumbhole
under-lever bar-in-wood hammer gun.
Fitted with 31" Damascus barrels, the top rib engraved
W R Leeson Ashford, Kent.
Carved percussion fences with rebounding locks set in a bar in wood
action. Purdey patent thumbhole under-lever, profusely engraved with
best bouquet and scroll engraving.
The barrels, fore-end and trigger
guard gold-inlaid with a "1", retaining very slight traces of original
colour-hardening.
14" highly
figured stock including butt-plate.
