Dear Sir
I have sent the gun this
morning as you desired & hope you will get it this evening.
In reply to your enquiries re
the gun all I can say is that I made it in 1887 for a gentleman in
Scotland at a cost of £20. a similar quality gun at the present day would be at
least £35.
From its condition I should
think it had never been overhauled since it was made. I did not rebore the
barrels as I did not consider it advisable.
I would suggest a charge of
32 grs of Empire powder and a bare ounce of shot especially as he has a crippled
arm; the recoil would be less with this charge than the standard load.
I beg to enclose the invoice
Yours obediently
W.R.Leeson
