28” steel barrels in excellent condition,
concaved game rib engraved
W. R. Leeson, Ashford Kent & 29 Maddox Street, London West. Fitted
with Webley Screw lock with Dolls Head third bite extension. Choked
approximately ¼ right; ½ left. London proof marks, stamped Nitro-proof 7/8
oz maximum 20 20c choke. Date of manufacture between 1896 and
1904.
This back action sidelock has full rose and scroll engraving and
Leeson style
fences.
Lock plates engraved W. R. Leeson both
internally and externally. Action face fitted with disk set
strikers with retaining lock screws. Top lever main screw also fitted
with retaining lock screw. Approximately 80% original case hardening colouring. Gold
inlaid Safe marking.
Highly figured Tiger stripe, quite possibility original Prince of Wales
stock which has curly grain with black lines and marble cake. Horn butt
plate with engraved screws. LOP 14" incl. recoil pad.
Anson type forend release.
This gun is quite likely in original condition, it appears to
have had little use and has been well maintained.
