12-bore Boxlock Non Ejector Side by Side by W. R. Leeson, Serial No: 2018

 

 

 

 

12-bore Boxlock non ejector with 30" original steel barrels with concave game rib,  chambered for 2½" cartridges, choked ¼ and ½. Rib engraved W. R. Leeson Limited Ashford, Kent & 41 Maddox Street, Bond Street, London, W.   Original London Proof marks 1904 to 1925. This gun dates from approximately 1910/11. Fitted with an Anson push rod forend release.

The action is fitted with the Webley Screw Grip third bite and Dolls Head extension and typical "Leeson" conical fences. The standing breech is fitted with disc set strikers and the top lever has an additional locking set pin.

The action is well engraved with rose and scroll but is showing surface rust. The action bar is engraved with the makers name W R Leeson Ltd.

Straight hand well figured English stock fitted with a Silvers recoil pad. Chequering is worn. The stock is pinned at the head and no longer fitting well at the action/stock head. The length of pull is 13 ½" incl. 1" pad.
