Boxlock with 28" re-sleeved steel
barrels, the bores being perfect with approximately 0.030" wall
thickness.
Gun carries Birmingham Nitro re-proofing marks. Top rib
engraved W. R. Leeson, Ashford, Kent. Right barrel
choked full and left barrel choked 3/4. Fitted with the Webley
Screw Grip with its Dolls Head extension variant.
Action engraved W. R. Leeson, Patent Screw Grip.
Engraving on the action is very simple/almost non-existent, the action
is of a bright finish (possibly a third grade or keeper's gun or
alternatively an export to the colonies). Being a relatively early Leeson, it does
not have the fine fluted (Leeson) fences that appear on many later guns.
The forend is
fitted with the snap type release.
The stock is 14 1/2" and
well figured
