28-bore Back Action Hammer gun by W. R.

28” barrels with concave game rib, engraved
W. R. Leeson Ashford Kent, Siemens's Steel with a wedge of engraved
scrollwork at the breech. 2¾" chambers, choke tube system, with
extractor. The case hardened frame features a fine scroll engraving that
extends to the hammers. The lock plates have a scroll border engraving with
a Marsh scene on the left lock and Game bird scene on the right. The break
lever and trigger guard/lower tang also feature the scroll engraving with a
game bird scene on the trigger guard. Various British proofs are stamped on
the water-table and on the underside of the chambers.
Nicely figured walnut straight grip stock
with fine checkering on the wrist and forearm and a bare checkered butt.
Note: Condition: Professionally restored.
Most of the blue finish remains with some thinning on the barrels. The
action retains most of the case colors, with a clear and crisp engraving.
The wood has a few minor dings (mostly on the butt-stock), with crisp
checkering. The action is fine.
