12-bore Boxlock Ejector by W. R. Leeson, Serial No. 739

 

28" Nitro proofed Siemens steel barrels with 2½" chambers and fitted with game rib. Choked approx. ¼ and ½. Rib engraved W R Leeson Ashford, Kent - Siemens Steel. Webley Screw grip third bite fitted with Dolls head extension. Originally London proofed but later Birmingham reproved.

The action, fitted with intercepting sears, is styled with the Leeson  conical fences. These, like the frame and trigger guard being highly engraved with rose and scroll. The makers name W R Leeson and Patent Screw Grip engraved on the action bar. The standing breech is fitted with disk set strikers. The top lever is fitted with an addition locking pin through the top lever spindle bolt.

13½" well figured straight hand English stock and an Anson pushrod style forend release.

Proof markings and rib address indicate the date of manufacture c. 1890 approx.
